Summary: W.H. Channing writes to T.D. Eliot to give him the news of his brother Frank's wounding and capture in battle. He gives an account of the battle that he has put together by talking to Captain Eliot's compatriots, including that a wounded Eliot instructed his men to leave him and save themselves.
