Summary: William asks James to pay bills to W.W. and Company? William brings James up-to-speed on many operations pertaining to the university, taking pride in how fast it's growing. William talks about completing a large endowment for the university which should put it in good financial standing. He then asks James for recommendations for professors of Rhetoric and Education, preferably one of "large English Culture."
