Summary: Ada writes that it is a rainy day so she didn't go to church. She talks about visitors to the house, including a woman who was looking for work to do so they gave her some sewing work. Father [William Greenleaf Eliot] has told Ada to ask the woman to come one or two times a week to give her work as she needs the money. She takes a break from writing for dinner, which she and her father both enjoyed.
